Teen Wheelthrowing


Monday - Friday June 25-29, 9 am - 4 pm each day. 

Open to ages 12-18.

In this intensive summer camp, students will explore techniques for creating beautiful ceramic pieces using the potter’s wheel. Form, function, and various surface treatments will be presented. Classes are tailored to individual students' interests and abilities. Experience on the wheel is a plus but not required.

During this week, students will focus on wet work only and glaze what they made on an agreed upon evening the following week. 

All materials, tools and firings are included in class tuition.

About Bethany: Bethany Rusen is the founder and owner of Black Hound Clay Studio. She has almost 20 years of teaching experience in clay, including community art centers, college level classes and specialized lectures and workshops. She earned her BFA in ceramics from Tyler School of Art and her MFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Class Policies and Information:

All clay, glazes and firings are included in class tuition.

All classes take place at 711B South 50th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19143. 

BHCS reserves the right to cancel class if there is insufficient enrollment. In the case of a cancelled class, a full refund will be issued.
